Association of Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade

The Association of Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade is the only national and officially recognized association by the Ministry of Defense that brings together all military paratroopers, and as such is the only legitimate organization representing Serbian military paratroopers in the country and in international organizations.

We are registered as a non-governmental and non-partisan association of members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, established for an indefinite period with the goal of preserving the tradition and history of Serbia’s liberation wars in which members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade participated, as well as providing comprehensive assistance and protection to war veterans, disabled war veterans, and family members of fallen brigade members.

Our membership consists of veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade from Serbia, as well as soldiers who, during the 82 years of the brigade’s existence, served in our brigade and now live and work in the former republics of the former Yugoslavia.

Throughout its long tradition, our brigade was the first and only parachute unit in the SFRY, which during peacetime developed military parachuting and trained many young generations in top-level parachuting skills, confirmed by numerous awards won at international competitions.

We are especially proud of our brigade’s participation in the most difficult armed conflicts fought in the territory of the former SFRY from 1991 to 2001, particularly in the Battle of Košare in 1999, the most difficult battle in the modern history of the Serbian people. For demonstrated military capability and exceptional courage, the brigade was awarded the highest state decoration – the Order of the National Hero.
