Saint Michael the patron of paratroopers and parachutists

Following the Euroepan traditions the Fellowship Association of Hungarian Parachutists (FAHP) organised a military mass at Szolnok, which is the main garrison of military parachutists and special forces. Many formes paratroopers participated at it from several cities accross the country, and some came back even from abroad. Due to the „great autumn exercise period” only one active soldier represented others. The mayor of the city Mihály (by chance it means Michael) Győrfi honored the event with his presence.

The mass was celebrated by military priest LtCol Roland Kálinger in the castle church.

Szolnok branch chief LtCol (Ret.) Zoltán Szabovik delivered a commemorative speech.

All participants received a small medaillon with the figure and St. Michael.

After the mass there was a friendly gathering where we shared stories from the past, while tasting local palinka made by one of our comrades.
